At 12 noon on Saturday this fixture never looked like going ahead with late call offs and players required for first team duty.

Fortunately the Stags youth squad was available to assist with players which allowed the fixture to be played.

Lasswade sitting above the stags in the league started the better, scoring 3 unanswered tries before the home team eventually got into the game.

And as the game settled down the Stags pack started to win quality ball to feed the home team backs who simply outclassed the away side.

Brothers Keifer and Saul Holdsworth at half backs, distributed fast ball to centres Jordan Cuthbertson and Neilly Boz who broke the line at will, with wingers Adam Middleton and Kenny Paterson showing great pace and running ability to round their opposite numbers to both score.

The backs eventually ran in six tries through Saul Holdsworth, Adam Middleton 2tries, Kenny Paterson, Jordan Cuthbertson, and Neilly Boz.

Saul Holdsworth slotted 5 conversions to top of an excellent personnel performance, however man of the match went to Jordan Cuthbertson whose all round game was outstanding.

Team Captain Boycie Bird unavailable to play after suffering a freak shaving accident prior to last weeks cup game was full of praise for his team and hopes to be fit in time to face Falkirk in the league at home on the 1st of March.
