Melrose Sevens

The Grangemouth Ladies competed in the 125th Melrose sevens, the first Melrose sevens to feature a Ladies competition.

3 teams competed in a round robin tournament.  Grangemouth played Melrose and Kirkcaldy. They fought hard and showed great determination but lost both games. Rachel Mallet won man of the match for her hard tackling and ripping of ball aided by the burger and chips between games!

Debbie Little consistently catch every high ball and ran straight back at the opposition.  Elizabeth Lawrie organised the team well on the pitch but remaining in their defensive channels was a challenge for the Glensburgh ladies and needs to be worked on for their next sevens outing in Mull. Lorna Drummond scored the only try of the day for Grangemouth.

The Ladies outperformed themselves during the social activities and definitely were voted most social team of the tournament.
