GRANGEMOUTH STAGETTES RFC 0 - 42 GLASGOW UNI LADIES

Sorry for the delay in the report but the match reporter was found to be lost in action following a poke in the eye.

Grangemouth Ladies Elite travelled to Glasgow to face another University team.

The first half was awesome and saw the students breach the Glensburgh Ladies line only once due to the heroic defence by all in red, black and gold.

Highlights included the mighty Karin Campbell stealing numerous balls in the line outs by her shear athleticism in the air!  Great kicking by Lesley Middlemiss cleared the lines to ease some pressure but unfortunately a try scoring opportunity could not be created.

The game was a proverbial one of 2 halves.  Sussing that the Grangemouth defence was impenetrable Glasgow changed tactics and kicked over their heads.  Having no respect for their elders and having got over their hangovers in the first half, the students streamed through in their millions to score a few times.

The mood of the lovely Grangemouth Ladies Elite stayed buoyant and a few pints were enjoyed in Ashton Lane.  The ladies stated in the post match interviews that they would be happy to play Glasgow Uni again if just for the curly fries in the West End
