GRFC TAKE DELIVERY OF NEW GYM EQUIPMENT FOR PLAYERS.

Earlier this month, Grangemouth were the lucky recipiants of £4,000 worth of gym equipment when West Lothian College kindly donated some of their excess machines. Graeme Mair, a sports lecturer at the College and also a veteran player with the club, negotiated between the two companies to secure the deal.

Grangemouth senior players have utilised the excellent facilities of the College in the heart of Livingston in the past two seasons by carrying out winter training in both their games hall and fitness suites on numerous occasions. Perhaps not the most local of locations to the port siders, but still very handy in the wet and frosty months and long nights of a Scottish winter! The College were keen that their old surplus equipment, which was still in perfect working order, should go to a good home and continue to develop athletes for the future. As a result, Grangemouth RFC stepped in, organised the delivery of the 4 weights machines, and now house them temporarily in the club gym. When the weather is a little more improved in the spring/summer of 2009, it is planned to house a large, permenant and secure portacabin at the club that will house the new equipment and more to increase the training capabiliites of players at the club.

We look forward to seeing the results translate in to more beef on the pitch!
