Morgan FP Ladies 38 - 0 Grangemouth Ladies

The Ladies had only their 3rd 15’s game of 2008 away to Morgan in the SWRO Shield semi final.  A final place at Murrayfield could not be secured when Grangemouth came up against a squad of 20 well drilled players, who had pulled out of the prestigious 125th Melrose 7’s to focus on this game.

The backs performed well stringing together a series of passes and strong running by Kat, Jemma Forsyth and Debbie Little. On 2 occasions there a contibued spell where Grangemouth were camped in the Morgan 22 but could not convert pressure into points.

The forwards performed well in set piece but were rucked off the ball by Morgan on several occasions resulting in turned over ball.

One on one tackles being missed resulted in numerous tries for Morgan but strong running by the opposition proved it was hard to bring these girls down.  The commitment of the Grangemouth girls cannot be faulted especially only 3 days after Melrose sevens.

This game has given plenty ideas for training this week!

The Grangemouth Ladies had one final match of the 2007/2008 away to Saints on 20th April.
